A Look at Some Oil Alternatives

Oil actually controls the whole world at the current moment. It powers machines, cars and so many other pieces of mechanical instruments. As we know the world is already looking for an alternative to oil as we already know it is running low, but what would that alternative be? Imagine that oil dried up overnight, what other energy sources would we have in place as an alternative? Lets take a brief look

    Coal

Before oil dominated the world, it was coal that powered almost everything. But because of the vast amount of Co2 that coal emits it would not be feasable to reintroduce it as a primary energy force, especially as the planet is trying to become more eco friendly.

    Renewable Energy

This is something that the whole world is moving towards, renewable energy is not only natural but it will never run out. Things such as solar enery can now store the power from the sun a output the energy into anything we want.

    Nuclear Power

Although nuclear energy is a lot more efficient than oil there is still one vast problem. Nuclear power is potentially very dangerous. Because of the absolute quantity of accidents that have happened at a lot of the atomic branches people just will not accept this as a form of energy. I mean who can forget the incidents of Windscale (UK, 1957), Three Mile Island (US, 1979) and Chernobyl (USSR, 1986).

All in all I believe that we are well on track to find a new energy form that is going to substitute oil. We all know that oil is not going to last forever and if we can develop the natural sources a lot faster then it will also help in protecting the whole planet.
