Why Oil Heaters Are A Great Option
Having a heater available to you at a moments notice is something that many people desire during the winter months. Although there are various heaters which do this job, there are some which have advantages over the others. Electric and gas heaters were once the heaters of choice but oil heaters have begun to take over as the new preference. There are many benefits to choosing an oil heater over the other types of heater.
A lot of people feel uneasy about using electric heaters as they do not feel comfortable leaving them on during the night. Electric heaters have been known to short circuit and cause fires so using them is always a worry. This makes them an unsuitable choice for night heating. Electric heaters also consume a lot of electricity making them very energy inefficient. Gas heaters should not be used at night either due to the fact that they pose potential risks of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning.
The risk of short circuiting is greatly reduced with oil heaters as they only use about a quarter of the electricity that an electric heater uses. This is because an oil heater works by slowly heating the oil inside the heater and once the desired temperature has been reached the heater will switch off and only come back on when the temperature in the room drops again. Many oil heaters also contain auto shut off features which kick in in the event of over heating or if the heater is tipped over by accident.
With oil heaters the air does not dry out or become stuffy. This means that breathing at night is much better. The temperature of the heater is also controllable. You can then choose whether to use the heater to take the chill out of a room or to heat it up fully. Because of the energy efficiency of oil heaters you may find that your heating bills are reduced.
Heating ones home in the cold months of winter can cost a fair packet. Fuel such as electricity and gas show no signs of coming down in price. Savvy people are changing over to oil as a home fuel though. When they do they always need their tanks filled with cheapest heating oil ensuring they can always heat their home in winter.
